The roof of the car park (7th floor) at the gates of Bairro Alto has become one of the mandatory spots to be made in Lisbon in the late afternoon and on the hottest summer nights. Opened in summer 2013, Park Lisboa, with its wooden tables and shrubs, gives the impression of a hanging garden. The view over the 25th April Bridge and the Church of Santa Catarina is magnificent. The menu consists of all the usual drinks and rather dietetic cuisine. Burgers are very popular and are made with cod (bacalhau), pork or vegetarian. It is possible to have lunch and dinner there. Outdoor cinema or DJs with an eclectic style liven up the terrace in the evening (jazz, Brazilian music, theme evenings). The Park does not accept reservations.

The outdoor terrace generally closes during the summer months and reopens in April. The space is rather busy to eat or have a drink at the end of the day. Rio Maravilha pays tribute to the Tagus and Rio de Janeiro with its name and concept. The menu merges Portuguese and Brazilian influences through its cocktails and dishes using only seasonal ingredients. Every Sunday afternoon, a DJ animates the space which offers a view of the bridge April 25th. Other events such as concerts or cultural activities regularly animate this Rio Maravilha with its industrial atmosphere.

To find this terrace, go to a narrow alley near Lisbon Cathedral (Sé). The bar is located on the first floor of the Memmo Alfama Hotel (4 stars), not on the top floor for once. This does not prevent it from being at the top of one of the most symbolic places in Lisbon : Alfama, the most typical and oldest district in the city. It is one of the most beautiful views of the Tagus River and one of the oldest parts of the city. The 19th century facade of the hotel has been preserved but the interior decoration is elegant, modern and contemporary. The bar is next to the hotel’s panoramic swimming pool. The menu offers a selection of Portuguese wines and tapas.
